The Grace Kelly Years, Princess of Monaco

October 10 - December 7, 2008

The exhibition became just one more step towards fulfilling the cultural partnership program between Russia and the Principality of Monaco. In 2004, the Ekaterina Cultural Foundation presented an exhibition titled The Russian Painters of «Knave of Diamonds» Group: between Cezanne and the Avant-garde, which took place for the first time at the State Exhibition Hall of Monaco under the patronage of His Serene Highness, the Sovereign Prince of Monaco Albert II. In 2004 - 2005, the exhibition was shown in the Russian Museum and the State Tretyakov Gallery with great success. The Grace Kelly Years, Princess of Monaco exhibition was open to the public at the exhibition hall of the Foundation from October to December 2008. The exhibition had been produced and realized by the Grimaldi Forum (Monaco). The first and most extensive exhibition, in terms of content, was shown at the Grimaldi Forum (Monaco) from July 12th to September 23th, 2007. The curator of the exhibition was Frédéric Mitterrand and the exhibition design was by Nathalie Criniere. A special exposition was prepared for exhibiting the collection at the Ekaterina Cultural Foundation. This unique exhibition was dedicated to the public and private life of Monaco's beloved Princess Grace. The unconventional approach to the organization of the exhibition space allowed the visitors to follow the Princess's journey through life, from her childhood in Philadelphia, her triumph in Hollywood, the meeting and subsequent marriage to Prince Rainier, and her years as a mother, patron of the arts and symbol of Monaco. The exhibition drew on a collection of the Princess's personal belongings (including articles of clothing, jewelry, accessories, film memorabilia, correspondence and photographs), thanks to which the life of the Hollywood star and Princess of Monaco unfolded in rich detail.
